Benesh Review 2005

The 50th anniversary of the launch of Benesh Movement Notation seems an opportune moment to consider where Benesh is at present and how best to take it forward into the future.

We have therefore commissioned Derek Purnell, former Chief Executive of Birmingham Royal Ballet and until recently the dance companies’ representative on the Academy’s Benesh Sub-committee, to undertake a review. The purpose of the review is to look at the sustainability of BMN, its application and future development and to make recommendations based on these findings.

To do this efficiently Derek will be identifying key people that he will wish to consult with: notators, Company Directors and others. As the time frame for the review is short, he will not be able to speak to everyone, so if you have any issues that you think relevant do please contact him at derek.purnell@btinternet.com

Please feel free to be frank and open, anything less will compromise the report.

Thank you for your co-operation.
