- Benesh Movement Notation Recording Workshop
This
course is for anyone with a working knowledge of Benesh Movement
Notation who wishes to develop their practical observation and
recording skills. It is particularly relevant to anyone studying
Benesh Movement Notation by Distance Learning and to teachers
and students preparing for GCSE A Level Dance.
Aim
To provide students with an opportunity to develop skills in observing and
analysing movement and recording it in Benesh Movement Notation.
Content

Recording
practice sessions to include the writing of movement sequences
in a variety of different dance and non-dance contexts

Practical
experience of using the notation as a tool for the analysis
of dance movement and its relationship to musical accompaniment

Reading
practice sessions include the reading of excerpts from choreographic
scores
